Job Description: Restaurant Hostess
**Position Overview:**
The Restaurant Hostess is the first point of contact for guests entering the restaurant. The Hostess is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring guests’ needs are met, managing reservations, and maintaining the flow of service.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Greeting Guests:**
- Welcome guests as they arrive with a warm and friendly demeanor.
- Manage the seating arrangements to optimize table turnover while ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
2. **Reservation Management:**
- Handle and manage reservations via phone and online platforms.
- Maintain an organized and efficient waitlist during busy periods.
3. **Customer Service:**
- Answer guest inquiries about the menu, specials, and restaurant policies.
- Address guests’ needs and assist them in a prompt and courteous manner.
4. **Communication:**
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
- Inform guests of their wait times and provide updates as necessary.
5. **Cleanliness and Organization:**
- Keep the reception area, menus, and waiting areas clean and organized.
- Assist in setting and clearing tables as needed.
6. **Problem-Solving:**
- Handle guest complaints or issues with grace and professionalism.
- Seek assistance from management when necessary to resolve guest concerns.
**Qualifications:**
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
