Job duties and responsibilities
- Studying tender documents including drawings, project specification, BOQ, scope of work, contract details and conditions when required.
- Capable of preparing tender study reports by analyzing the scope of work.
- Studying tender BOQ, quantities take off, sending enquiries to the vendors/ subcontractors to get competitive quotations when required.
- Implementing tender strategies as communicated through the proposals.
- Liaising with construction/operations team to establish and execute statements and reflect the same in estimations.
- Establishing direct cost resources required to execute various activities.
- Preparing technical clarifications to clients for discrepancies found in tender documents after reviewing and incorporating the changes after response.
- Capable of preparing budgets for executions/zero budgets.
- Participating in pre- tender meetings, site visits and capable of preparing site visit report to analyze the project scope of work.
- Analyzing vendor technical offers and commercial as well in view of project specifications and standards.
- Capable of preparing comparative statements to analyze and select the most appropriate vendors and subcontractors.
- Preparing vendors cost comparative study report to get financial selection of vendors/ subcontractor and price when required.
- Preparing required bid submission documents including commercial and technical submittals when required.
- Capable of collecting vendors technical data sheets, specification, drawings, and compiling them in line with tender documents to prepare technical bid submission as and when required.
- Preparing and coordinating post tender technical clarifications when required.
- Proficient in coordinating with vendor post tender clarification to technical qualifications.
- Assisting the management for post tender commercial negotiations with client and vendor to reach competitive pricing when needed.
Job qualifications/requirements
- At least 8 – 12 years of demonstrable experience handling estimation and tendering related to both residential and commercial buildings.
- Preferably candidates with a degree in either Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or any similar related field.
- Knowledgeable and proficient in utilizing computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports etc.
