Your opportunity
As an Associate, you will play a lead role in analyzing specific companies for investment or creditworthiness, taking the lead in financial modeling, industry research and memo preparation to ensure high quality investment/credit decisions. The Associate will work with small deal teams of professionals that are responsible for screening, negotiating, performing due diligence, documenting and closing new investments/loans, as well as supporting post-acquisition portfolio management initiatives and monitoring.
You will:
- Screen new investment opportunities and early development of investment theses. Conduct industry research and analyze financial, operational and strategic information relating to the target/borrower
- Provide robust deliverables (investment memos, financial models, ad hoc analysis) based on rigorous assessment of all available information to ensure high quality decisions by senior team members
- Support senior members of the team in all stages of deal execution, including selection of and liaising with third party advisors, and all other aspects of due diligence, and closing
- Participate in portfolio management activities, including actively engaging with management on a variety of strategic, financial and operational initiatives, as well as preparing portfolio review quarterly and annual reports
- Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or other applicable fields
- 3+ years of prior work experience, preferably a private equity or private debt fund, or investment banking (sector groups such as consumer and retail, industrials, TMT, or product teams such as M&A, leveraged finance or financial sponsors coverage group)
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with extensive financial modeling and analysis experience
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- High degree of initiative, motivation and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage time / multiple projects and work under pressure
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player and contribute to a positive team culture
Nice to have skills
- MBA is advantageous but not essential
- Experience in global financial centers (New York, London) with a link to Middle East preferred
- Verbal and reading comprehension skills in Arabic preferred but not essential
