Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the execution of metal and joinery projects.
- Ensure that all projects are completed within scope, time, cost, and quality constraints.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring that milestones are met and any delays are mitigated.
- Review project plans, design drawings, and specifications to ensure technical feasibility.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve any technical issues.
- Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical guidance and expertise in metal works, joinery, and related construction processes.
- Conduct feasibility studies and propose technical solutions to improve product quality and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure the use of the latest technologies and industry best practices in the metal and joinery operations.
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and work methodologies.
- Supervise and train technical teams in the latest industry standards and techniques.
- Team Management:
- Lead a team of engineers, technicians, and other technical staff in the metal section/joinery.
- Provide mentoring, training, and development opportunities to the team members.
- Oversee the performance and productivity of the team, ensuring all tasks are executed effectively and safely.
- Conduct regular performance appraisals and set development goals for team members.
- Quality Control & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards, local regulations, and company policies in all metal and joinery operations.
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that all outputs meet required standards.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment, tools, and work areas to ensure they are safe and functioning optimally.
- Implement and maintain an effective reporting system for technical issues, quality deviations, and safety incidents.
- Cost Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for projects and operational activities.
- Monitor costs related to materials, labor, and equipment to ensure that projects remain within budget.
- Propose cost-effective solutions to improve production efficiency without compromising on quality.
- Procurement and Material Management:
- Collaborate with the procurement team to select the best materials for metalworks and joinery.
- Ensure the timely availability of materials and equipment needed for ongoing projects.
- Review material specifications and ensure that all procured items meet technical requirements.
- Client Interaction and Reporting:
- Communicate with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns, and provide technical advice.
- Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and project status meetings to senior management and clients.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related technical field.
- Certifications in metalworking, joinery, or project management (e.g., PMP) would be advantageous.
