Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: UAE
Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our esteemed consultancy team. The candidate must possess 10+ years of experience, specifically in high-rise building design and have a strong consultancy background with hands-on expertise in UAE-specific projects. Immediate joiners will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Development:
- Lead the design and engineering of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting for high-rise building projects.
- Ensure all designs adhere to UAE regulatory standards (DM, DEWA, ADWEA, etc.) and international codes such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and BS Standards.
- Project Leadership:
- Manage the mechanical design process across various project phases from concept to completion.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, structural engineers, and other MEP teams for seamless project execution.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Review and validate mechanical drawings, calculations, and technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct design audits and site inspections to guarantee alignment with approved specifications.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare design documentation, BOQs, technical specifications, and tender documents.
- Provide comprehensive project progress updates and technical reports to stakeholders.
- Client and Authority Coordination:
- Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Work closely with UAE authorities for design approvals, permits, and compliance checks.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Supervise and guide junior engineers and CAD/BIM technicians in design and project coordination.
- Conduct technical training sessions to enhance team proficiency in mechanical design.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Certifications such as LEED, PMP, or DEWA-approved engineer are advantageous.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering with a focus on high-rise buildings.
- Proven track record of working with reputable engineering consultancies in the UAE.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in software tools such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, HAP, and other mechanical design software.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical load calculations, energy-efficient systems, and sustainable design practices.
- Knowledge of UAE Standards:
- Familiarity with UAE-specific design regulations and local authority requirements.
- Ability to handle authority submissions and secure approvals effectively.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent project management, coordination, and leadership capabilities.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients, teams, and authorities effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Availability:
- Immediate joiners are highly preferred.
