Role Description
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will lead the mechanical design process, oversee the drafting team, collaborate with suppliers and contractors, and provide efficient and cost-effective mechanical solutions tailored to project needs and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Supervise and guide the drafting team in preparing precise mechanical designs and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to design standards, project schedules, and quality benchmarks.
- Mentor junior engineers and drafts personnel, fostering professional growth and excellence.
Coordination & Communication:
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials, negotiate costs, and ensure timely deliveries.
- Act as the main point of contact for site-related mechanical queries, communicating effectively via phone, email, and other channels.
- Work closely with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
Technical Expertise & Problem Solving:
- Analyze project requirements and propose innovative, budget-conscious mechanical solutions.
- Review and approve mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and sustainability goals.
- Troubleshoot on-site mechanical challenges, providing expert guidance to ensure smooth execution.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of designs, communications, and changes for project documentation.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on mechanical design progress, cost analysis, and issue resolutions for stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in construction projects.
- Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems, and other mechanical systems used in construction.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
