Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Tailor Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the tailor workforce, designing and delivering high-quality garments tailored to client specifications and requirements, while maintaining superior standards of fashion and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Garment Design and Customization:

  • Create and design garments for various occasions based on client requirements.
  • Recommend suitable fabrics, colors, and styles in line with modern trends.
  • Draft, drape, and translate design concepts into finished garments.

Fitting and Alterations:

  • Perform garment fittings and make necessary alterations for the perfect fit.
  • Mark patterns and designs or use pre-designed templates for cutting fabric.

Production Oversight:

  • Supervise the tailor team during design, production, and alteration processes.
  • Ensure high-quality production standards and timely delivery of garments.
  • Maintain proper functioning of garment production machinery.

Material and Resource Management:

  • Organize and manage fabrics, trims, and other materials efficiently.
  • Monitor timelines, costs, and resources required for production.

Trend Analysis and Creativity:

  • Stay updated on local and global fashion trends to produce modern, stylish garments.
  • Adapt existing patterns or develop new designs to meet client expectations.

Quality Control and Team Management:

  • Ensure all garments meet the highest quality and craftsmanship standards.
  • Manage timelines and quality benchmarks for all products delivered by the workshop.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the tailoring team.

Miscellaneous:

  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Line Manager as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Designing.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in a similar role.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Proven expertise as a fashion designer and tailor.
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends, designs, and brands.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to deliver premium-quality garments.
  • Superior knowledge of current local and global fashion styles and trends.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse responsibilities and a team effectively.
