Position Overview
The Junior Architect supports the design and development of architectural projects by assisting with drafting, planning, and coordinating tasks under the guidance of senior architects.
This role involves working on various stages of projects, from conceptual design to construction documentation, and requires strong technical skills, creativity, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting and Design
Assist in creating architectural designs, plans, and drawings for various projects using CAD software and other design tools
Develop detailed construction documents including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
Support senior architects in conceptualizing and visualizing design ideas.
Project Coordination
Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
Prepare and update project documentation, including specifications and schedules.
Assist in coordinating with clients and stakeholders to gather project requirements and feedback.
Research and Analysis
Conduct research on building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant standards to ensure compliance.
Analyse site conditions, existing structures, and other factors that may impact the design and development process
Model Making and Visualization
Self-checks and peer reviews to minimize errors and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Use rendering software to produce visualizations and presentations of architectural projects.
Site Visits and Inspections
Assist in conducting site visits to monitor construction progress, verify adherence to design specifications, and address any issues that arise.
Document site conditions and report findings to the project team.
Administrative Support
Organize and maintain project files, including drawings, correspondence, and reports.
Assist in preparing project proposals, presentations, and other client-facing documents.
