Job Description

Job duties of a system administrator will include:-

1) Systems administrators are responsible for the upkeep of all the computers and networks in a company .
2) They have to be ready for troubleshooting and attend calls for immediate repair work
3) They have to manage the company servers and intranet by installing good security systems and protect the important information on them
4) They have to keep a backup of all the data of the company
5) They have to help design internal office software systems which can be used for filing and other internal office tasks
6) They have to make plans for periodical checks of the computer systems so there are problems in the future
7) They are in charge of inventory of paraphernalia regarding computers and should ensure that they are well stocked to carry out immediate repair work
8) They have to do systematic checks on all the computer related equipment in the office including security equipment like CCTV cameras and biometric systems
9) They also make all the decisions regarding the purchase of new computer equipment for the office or upgrading of the existing systems
10) Systems administrators have to make report for the management informing on the condition of the internal systems after every system check
11) They should know all the operating systems that are being used in the office.
