Job Description:
The Resident Engineer shall be responsible and accountable for managing, monitoring, and controlling all construction site activities to ensure that the project s Scope of Work, Quality, Schedule, and Cost are provided by the Contractor in accordance with the HSE and Contract Requirements.
Responsibilities:
Report to the Project Director and lead Sr. Site Engineers, HSE Manager and Site Inspectors.
Review and maintain Contract s technical documents & BOQ as well as Contractor s approved Quality & HSE Plans, Schedule Baseline,
Oversee field site activities and provide technical advice on construction and design.
Ensure that all Contractor s submitted technical transmittals including shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs are processed in accordance with the Design and Specifications of the Project.
Ensure that all Contractor s submitted Inspections Requests for delivered material and executed works are processed in accordance with the Project Specifications, approved shop drawings and material submittals.
Ensure that the QA/QC activities on site are in accordance with the approved Quality Plan and Project s Quality Procedures.
Ensure that the RE team conducts regular site surveillance and issuing Site Observation Reports (SOR) and Non-Conformity Reports (NCR) whenever applicable.
Issue and maintain a log for SORs and NCRs reflecting the closure status for each.
Ensure that all site activities are being executed in accordance with HSE requirements, conduct weekly HSE meetings, issue HSE Violation Reports and ensure that they are closed promptly.
Provide technical input to the Contractor s proposed technical deviations.
Provide input to Contractor s monthly interim payments regarding executed works on site.
Provide input to Contractor s claims and Contract s variations.
Attend site weekly progress meetings and provide input regarding ongoing site activities.
Monitor and report on Contractor s manpower and subcontractors.
Maintain accurate records and reports related to the project.
Monitor and facilitate the Testing & Commissioning of the project.
Participate in contract close-out activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in architectural or civil engineering. A degree in Construction Management is a plus.
Minimum 15 years with at least 10 years in the role of Resident Engineer.
Ability to read and interpret contract documents and construction plans and specifications.
Must be very organized and have effective problem solving, leadership and negotiation skills
Must be able to read, write and speak English. Arabic is a plus.

Key Responsibilities :

Department Overview Motorola Solutions is looking for a dynamic and collaborative individual to work within our Systems Integration International Finance team. A core part of the role is specifically accountable for and focused on overseeing and coordinating the project financials on critical, highly visible deployment projects in Oman. However, the role will also work across the International region in developing the Finance support, partnership and insight on Emerging Technologies* in the Systems Integration (SI) business. This is a business critical role that will directly support the Oman project team, as well as our Systems Integration leadership team for International. *Emerging Technologies currently encompasses our Mobile & Fixed Video, as well as Unified Communications SI. Job Description 1. Lead the rolling forecast (“CV”) process for Oman. This primarily covers revenue, margin and cash. It includes the preparation, review/interlock with key stakeholders, insight and submission. Allied to this is managing expectations, accuracy, and prompt identification of risks/opportunities, driving ownership and mitigation strategies by the project team. 2. Control and forecasting of other key project metrics, such as the quarterly POC Asset/Liability position and Billing status. 3. Risk management and control. Evaluate, model and provide early warning of opportunities and risks with due consideration of risk mitigation strategies. 4. Bi-weekly Outlook review calls. Leading the SI VP through a regular health check on the financials. 5. Business review preparation and participation for Oman and Emerging Technologies. (a) Quarterly Project Review (QPR). Support the local project team in preparedness, manage key messages and financial outcomes e.g. adjustments to project budget. (b) Operations Reviews. Prepare and periodically update Exec level project and business summaries for inclusion in SI VP reviews with global leaders. (c) Ad hoc. 6. Local compliance and audits. Partner with the Project Controlling team (Finance Operations Centre “FOC”, Krakow) and local teams to ensure such matters are fulfilled and local certifications in place and renewed. Liaise with local audit partners. 7. Project team and customer support. (a) Partner with project team and FOC to develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring accuracy and completeness. (b) Monitor project expenditures, analyse cost trends, and identify areas for cost-saving opportunities or potential risks. (c) Coordinate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of financial data, including project forecasts, budget updates, and cost allocation. (d) Be prepared to step-in and work directly with the customer to mutually improveoutcomes. 8. Coordinate the Long Range Plan (LRP) process for Oman. As part of the Jun CV cycle each year, with particular focus on revenue, margin and cash. 9. Develop and embed reporting for SI International where it pertains to EmergingTechnologies. This is likely to include collaborating across the matrix to redefine frameworks and inputs. 10. Partner the UC SI Leader. Bring the cadences, quality of reporting and insight of this newlyestablished piece of the SI team up to the standards of the rest of the SI regions. Basic Requirements University Degree preferred Accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) required 3+ years’ experience working in Finance/Accounting roles demonstrating clear career path and development, preferably in a complex, matrixed organisation. Finance Project Controlling or Business Partnering experience would be an advantage. An effective communicator with the ability to work inclusively, across functions and up to senior stakeholder level. Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify large volumes of data and convey key messages to leaders Financial modelling skills A ‘can do’ and resilient attitude, with the ability to see how current processes can be simplified and to execute those improvements. A good appreciation of local accounting and US GAAP standards. Proficient systems skills including MS Office and Essbase are a plus, with GSheet knowledge advantageous.
