Job Objective:

The Dock Master works as a member of a 24/7 shift system that provides the marina with an  operational and interactive berth-holder assistance. Most of the time will be spent out of the office in assisting owners and their boats, attending various check-list items such as maintenance and safety duties in the marina area. Also his work will revolve around marina reception, booking-in visiting yachts, accepting payments, issuing keys, handling new business enquiries, answering the VHF and telephone calls as required and needed.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assisting owners and crews with yacht berthing and un-berthing.

2. Ensuring that vessels in the marina are at all times securely moored and protected from damage with adequate protection.

3. Ensuring that no hazard is caused by mooring lines, electricity cables, water hoses, boat overhangs, or materials on the pontoons / quays.

4. Towing and line-handling with the marina workboat.

5. Assisting owners and crews with car-parking, baggage handling, and such other services as they may reasonably request.

6. Checking berth occupancy and license validity, monitoring electricity and water usage.

7. Carrying and tidying buildings (including restrooms when no cleaner is on duty) while maintaining a high standard of hygiene and appearance.

8. Ensures that marina users obey the Marina Rules.

9. Operation of the fuel dock when the fuel dock attendant is absent.

10. Booking of yachts, allocating berths, issuing berthing licenses and invoices, receiving payment and issuing receipts.

11. Liaising with government authorities (i.e. police, customs, and immigration) when needed.

12. Issuing keys and security passes and monitoring the security system of the marina area (includes making security patrols at night).

13. Maintaining and keeping up to date all diaries and other records.

Job Purpose:

The Assistant Director - Infrastructure is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of infrastructure systems across Dubai Holding’s portfolio, including Nakheel, Meydan, Limitless, Dubai Land assets, and master-planned communities.
