We seek an experienced and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work in a unique and new research project funded until 2027 by the Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council (QRDI) - Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) titled Pearling social networks in the GCC: comprehensive sociograms and content analyses across social media platforms" led by the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) represented by Charles Harb (Lead Principal Investigator). In this project, the research team will be comprehensively mapping the online socio-political networks of the GCC. In doing so, we will be producing a large repository of data on such networks, and conducting novel analyses that will help shed light on the structure of such networks, information flows within these networks, and the dynamics of network change. The successful applicant will be based at the DI. The project will operate within the Research & Grants Department.
A Ph.D. in hand is required before joining the project, but we will consider advanced ABDs during the application process. Candidates should have proven working knowledge and experience of the literature on social network analysis and information technology, advanced network analysis skills, broad training in advanced quantitative methods and the demonstrated ability to write high-quality research papers. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in conducting dynamic network analyses, Python and/or R programming skills, and experience working with large datasets drawn from online social networks. Most importantly, the candidate should have a solid foundation in quantitative social sciences and the flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques.

CAE, the worldwide leader in aviation training is seeking an UAS Sensor Operator Instructor for our UAS training delivery program in Saudi Arabia at King Faisal Air Academy (KFAA), Al Majma ah. The UAS Sensor Operator instructor will work as part of a team to provide academic and simulator instruction. In this role you will use your extensive aviation experience, training experience, and varied computer skills (text & graphics), to develop, deliver and maintain multi-media and computer-assisted courseware packages. This position is customer-facing and is focused on identifying and supporting customers needs and requests. You will provide training to the customers at KFAA Al Majma ah, Saudi Arabia and resolve a broad range of issues in an autonomous manner. You will deliver UAS system training in areas of expertise using a variety of instructional training aids in the classroom environment including the use of multimedia presentations (videos, slides, Power Point), system components and simulators.
About you
Minimum requirements
Former military instructor pilot (USAF specialty code X , UK Airborne Instructor, or direct NATO equivalent)
1500 hours of total sensor operator flying time, of which 500 hours should be on a representative MALE UAS type.
3 years of initial UAS instruction in a formal teaching environment.
Native English speaker or ICAO Level 5 (Extended) Aviation English.
Excellent pedagogical skills and knowledge of academic instructional techniques.
Desired Requirements
Prior experience of the Middle Eastern region.
Prior experience of instruction of non-native English speakers.
Prior experience of courseware development using UK JSP822/ADDIE methodologies.
