The Division of Social Science at New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi is searching for visiting faculty to educate the next generation of global leaders.

You are invited to apply for a visiting faculty position in a new undergraduate program, a B.A. in Business, Organizations and Society. The program is interdisciplinary and focuses on the role and impact of business within society. Established on principles of the liberal arts, the program integrates business theory and application, and prepares students to take on roles in businesses and effectively and holistically examine the implications of business decisions for society from multiple perspectives (i.e., social, political, economic, and cultural).

The program seeks applicants whose research and teaching are rooted in Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Ethics Social Impact, or a related area. Applicants should demonstrate an outstanding track record for their career stage, in both research and teaching. There are many collaboration opportunities within NYUAD, which already houses a number of interdisciplinary research centers and labs, including the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (C-BID), Center for Interacting Urban Networks (CITIES), and Social Science Experimental Lab (SSEL).

The visiting position is typically for one academic year and the expected teaching load is four courses, dependent on rank. The classes are relatively small and typically have at most 24 students. Candidates are expected to be excellent teachers of undergraduate courses. While the following list is not inclusive, anticipated courses/subject areas include: Entrepreneurship; Business Ethics; Social Ventures; Sustainability and Social Impact; Leadership, Strategy; and Management and Organization.

Qualifications

Your Impact 

Lead Instructors play a key role in Correlation One training. They train Fellows in Correlation One’s programs and work with company operations personnel to drive exceptional learning outcomes. Their main focus as educators is to conduct large synchronous online lectures on technical content, training anywhere from 20 to 2,000 Fellows, depending on the program. The ideal candidate will be an excellent educator with superior communication skills and a good sense on how to provide a positive Fellow experience.

This person is a quick learner, diligent with their work, and empathetic. Your driving motivation is helping Fellows learn the material taught during the program so that they can use their new knowledge & skills in the real world.

A Day in The Life

  • Teaching lectures for the program
  • Reviewing the cases in advance and preparing for teaching sessions

The Compensation and Benefits Advisor will be supporting the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region and report into the Head of Rewards for International Health. Candidate will also partner with Global Rewards, Human Resources Business Partners and Leadership Teams based across the thirty countries global footprint. The role requires the ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders both internal and external, across a complex and dynamic business environment.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Play a key role in the overseeing, reinforcing, and educating of company reward practices and programs with International Health HR colleagues and Business Leaders

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and HRBP teams to assess job evaluations, manage role mapping alignment, and develop competitive offer recommendations

  • Complete annual compensation and benefits surveys for all markets in the Middle East and Africa, where Cigna has its footprint

  • Review of market range pricing, salary structures, benefits programming, external benchmark, and employee data analysis

  • Support the company-wide annual compensation planning cycle and partner with Global Rewards Team and project team (testing, communications, support to HRBP and etc.)

As a Data Scientist Cum Data Analyst for Risk Management, you will be responsible for

leveraging both statistical analysis and advanced analytics to provide insights and strategies that

safeguard the company’s assets, reputation, and customers from potential stock-trading related

risks. You will play a crucial role in understanding, predicting, and mitigating risks related to

stock trading patterns and behavior.

[Key responsibilities]

Data Analysis & Modeling:

Design, develop, and deploy predictive models to identify suspicious stock trading and

potential fraudulent activities.

Analyze large datasets to extract insights and trends that can influence stock trading behavior

and risks.

Utilize machine learning techniques to continuously improve the accuracy of risk predictions.

Risk Management:

Collaborate with the broader risk management team to design and implement strategies that

minimize potential losses.

Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports that highlight potential risk areas and provide

actionable insights.

Recommend thresholds for stock trading limits based on customer behavior, historical data,

and market conditions.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with the IT department to ensure that data sources are reliable, and data

processing pipelines are optimized.

Provide feedback and insights to the customer support and operations teams to ensure a

holistic approach to risk management.

Present findings and insights to senior management, informing decision-making processes.

Continuous Learning:

Stay updated with the latest developments in the stock trading & sports industry, including

technologies, regulations, and threats.

Attend conferences, workshops, and training to ensure the companys risk management

techniques are state-of-the-art.

[Qualifications]

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

Master’s or PhD preferred.

Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a data science, analytics, or statistical analysis

role. Prior experience in the stock trading & sports industry or risk management is a plus.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Java,Python, R, SQL,

and relevant data science libraries.

Experience with big data platforms like Hadoop, Spark, or similar technologies.

Strong statistical modeling background with experience in machine learning and predictive

analytics.
