Areas associated with planetary atmospheres, planetary formation, interior evolution, gravitational dynamics, and formation align with ongoing research at NYUAD, but other areas of interest are also encouraged. Researchers will be expected to bring experience and expertise in areas such as hydrodynamics, radiative transfer, atmospheric chemistry, planetary structure, n-body calculations, retrieval calculations, interior convection, machine learning, or aeronomy. Astrophysical research at NYUAD spans a wide range of topics, including astroparticle studies, stellar and planetary physics, compact objects, and cosmological simulations, allowing researchers to interact with a wide swath of topics. In parallel to the academic departments at NYUAD, Institute Programs serve to significantly enhance research activities, including the Center for Astrophysics and Space Science (CASS). Overall, more than 30 postdoctoral researchers are involved with astrophysics, providing a rich environment for research.
Research at NYUAD into planetary physics is heavily supported at both the institutional and national levels. Locally, NYUAD has access to significant on-campus computational resources, including a medium-sized Linux cluster consisting of more than 28,000 computing cores and a peak performance of approx. 795 TFLOPS. Nationally, the commitment to Space Science has increased exponentially, culminating most recently in the successful insertion of the Al Amal Spacecraft into the Martian atmosphere. The next years will see a lunar and asteroid missions as well. Overall, the commitment to planetary science at NYUAD and within the UAE promises to spur significant advancements, allow for scientific innovation, and provide future opportunities.

The New York University Abu Dhabi Computational Approaches to Modeling Language (CAMeL) Lab seeks to hire a new research associate to work in any of the lab research areas, to be involved in the development of open-source tools and resources, and to work on publications related to their work. CAMeLs mission is research and education in artificial intelligence, specifically focusing on natural language processing, computational linguistics, and data science. The main lab research areas are Arabic natural language processing (orthography normalization, grammatical error correction, morphology tagging, syntax parsing, readability assessment), machine translation, and text analytics. Since its establishment in 2014, the CAMeL Lab has produced over 150 publications and 20 language resources and tools. The lab website is http://www.camel-lab.com/. The position will target the rank of Research Associate (with BS or MS). A strong preference is for individuals with (a) computer science or computer engineering degrees including previous experience in natural language processing or computational linguistics/language technologies degrees; (b) strong programming and software engineering skills, and machine learning experience; and (c) some research publication experience. Knowledge of Arabic language is preferred, but not required. Previous work on Arabic NLP is preferred but not required.
