2. JOB PURPOSE / ROLE:
Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi is pleased to announce the availability of a fully funded PhD scholarship, for
exceptional and motivated candidates interested in pursuing advanced research in the field of sociology and
environmental studies.
This scholarship aims to support outstanding young researchers in developing their expertise and contributing to
the advancement of sociological knowledge on environmental-related issues and especially in the context of the
UAE society. The PhD candidate will be enrolled in the PhD program of the Sociology Department at Sorbonne
Université (Paris) and will be associate to Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi Research Institute.

Scholarship
Details:
The selected candidate will receive a full scholarship covering tuition fees and a stipend for
living expenses. The candidate is expected to live in the UAE and be available for travelling to
Paris when required.
The scholarship is renewable for up to three years, contingent on satisfactory progress and
fulfilment of the research requirements.
